The Norwegian Copyright Development Association (Norcode) was established October 2007 by the five Norwegian collective management organizations: BONO, Gramo, Kopinor, Norwaco and TONO.
The association’s objective is to carry out international development work in the copyright field. This includes actions such as providing introduction to legislation and collective management of rights, helping to build basic organizations for rightsholders and collective management organizations, international integration and professional and technological assistance. Study visits to Norway, international training courses in copyright and related rights, seminars, organizational and economical support, are among Norcode´s contributions to meet these needs. The association is not aiming to promote its own or its member's financial interests.
Norcode is currently engaged in activities in Argentina, Eritrea, Ghana, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, the Philippines, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe and several countries in Africa. These projects range from music, publications and reprography, to audio-visual and visual expressions, in addition comes projects that are not sector specific.
